Boko Haram Kill 10 in Cameroon Raid
2015-08-15
[AnNahar] Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
Islamists killed 10 people, including two soldiers, and torched several homes during a raid in northern Cameroon
...a long, narrow country that fills the space between Nigeria and Chad on the northeast, CAR to the southeast. Prior to incursions by Boko Haram nothing ever happened there...
, security sources said Thursday.

Wednesday's attack in the town of Blame, near the Nigerian border, led to the deaths "of two soldiers from BIR (an elite army unit) and eight civilians," a security source said. A BIR officer also confirmed the toll.

The Islamists also burnt several houses in the town, which lies near Lake Chad, before retreating to Nigeria, the security source said.

A Cameroonian soldier was killed and two others maimed Tuesday in another Boko Haram attack in the north of the country.

Many of the bandidos Death Eaters are hiding out in Lake Chad, a shallow, marshy water body dotted with hundreds of islets, and in Nigeria's Sambisa Forest near the border with Cameroon.

Nigeria President Gives Army 3 Months to End Boko Haram Attacks

[AnNahar] Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari swore in a new set of military chiefs on Thursday, ordering them to end Boko Haram's bloody six-year Islamist insurgency within three months.
That's definitely a stretch goal, given the organization's demonstrated capabilities, but perhaps regional competition and the quiet efforts of outside professionals will enable it to be accomplished.
"You need to brace up and continue to team up with other stakeholders to come up with a well coordinated joint effort which will bring a desired end to these insurgencies within three months," Buhari told the chiefs in the capital Abuja.

Buhari, who came to power on May 29, quickly replaced the heads of the army, air force and navy as well as the chief of defense in an apparent move to reshape the fight against Boko Haram.
