| Ranger gunned down in front of his bride in Thai south |

| Bangkok Post] A ranger was gunned down by suspected insurgents at his wedding party in front of his bride on Thursday evening in Pattani province. Anthee Koraree, deputy chief of the Muang district police station, said the shooting occurred at a house in Ban Talubo when 27-year-old groom Arhamad Da-o, who belonged to Pattani Task Force 43, was welcoming guests with his bride. Four gunmen on two motorcycles arrived and one of them walked to Arhamad and fired seven shots at him. The three other gunmen drew their guns and threatened the guests, telling them not to move. But the attack caused panic and prompted the guests to flee and duck for cover. The gunmen then fled. The ranger succumbed to his wounds while being taken to the hospital. Police blamed separatist militants for the shooting, since the groom was a ranger. |
