by police in June after he tried to buy an AK-47 assault rifle from an undercover law enforcement officer.

Al-Ghazi had a criminal record, making it illegal for him to possess a firearm.

He allegedly pledged support to Daesh and its leader, His Supreme Immensity, Caliph of the Faithful and Galactic Overlord, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi

, via social media in 2014, according to the Justice Department, which said that he attempted to recruit others to the hard boy group from July 2014 to June 2015.

In addition, al-Ghazi expressed a desire to attack the U.S., and "took steps to create propaganda videos" for Daesh, the Justice Department said in a statement.

Twenty-five of the charges against al-Ghazi relate to his alleged sale of marijuana from Feb. 2014 through June 2015.
