UN chief condemns 'appalling' attacks in France, Tunisia, Kuwait |
2015-06-27 |
[Al Ahram] UN Secretary-General the ephemeral Ban Ki-moon ... of whom it can be said to his credit that he is not Kofi Annan... strongly condemned the "appalling" attacks on Friday in La Belle France, Kuwait and Tunisia and said those responsible should face justice. The Kuwait, French, or Tunisian authorities catch the perps and give them appropriate sentences--the kind that involve rope or firearms--and the same UN SecGen will hand them a note of tut-tuttery. One person was decapitated in southeastern La Belle France while in Tunisia gunnies killed at least 28 people at a beach resort, while 25 people died in a suicide kaboom claimed by Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allaharound with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not reallyMoslems.... jihadists in Kuwait. Ban condemned "in the strongest terms the terrorist attacks in Tunisia, Kuwait and La Belle France today," said a statement from his front man. "Those responsible for these appalling acts of violence must be swiftly brought to justice." Ban vowed that the "heinous attacks" will not weaken international resolve to fight terror but rather strengthen the commitment to defeat "those bent on murder, destruction and the annihilation of human development and culture." |

#1 How effective have previous UN condemnations been in the past? I would argue the perpetrators probably use it as indication of success. |
