Israel Intervened in Syria by Declaring Buffer Zone in Syria Golan Heights
2015-06-19
[al-Alam] Monitors from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the village of Khadr was now surrounded by terrorists, who had taken a hilltop immediately to the north.

Druze leaders in Israel and the Golan Heights warned that they might storm the frontier to save their relatives, fearing a sectarian massacre.

Netanyahu said he had given "instructions to do what is necessary" to help Syria's Druze. Israel also warned Syrian "terrorist" groups operating in southern Syria not to attack and to stay away from Khadr.

Local media reports said the Israelis was considering establishing a buffer zone on the Syrian side of the border for refugees - a move that would be an unprecedented step given decades in which the frontier has been a "frozen zone".

The crisis over the Druze intensified on Tuesday night, as fighting between Jabhat al-Nusra
...formally Jabhat an-Nusrah li-Ahli sh-Sham (Support Front for the People of the Levant), also known as al-Qaeda in the Levant. They aim to establish a pan-Arab caliphate. Not the same one as the Islamic State, though .. ...
- al-Qaeda's Syria affiliate - Syrian rebels and the Syrian army intensified in southern Syria.

Jabhat al-Nusra have insisted they are not intent on killing Druze, a sect that hardline "jihadists"(terrorists) consider to be heretical or apostate from true Islam. They even killed 20 Druze in a village in northern Syria in a dispute over property.

On Tuesday, the Israeli Forces temporarily declared an area in the northern Golan Heights a closed military zone.

The move was done "in order to prevent gatherings near the border, which would interfere with IDF---Israeli forces--- activities, and was not related to the fighting in Syria", an IDF front man said in a statement to The Telegraph.

#4  Sorry, #2, but IMO Israel may have the Nukes + IDF, but does NOT yet have either the Population Demograhy nor the Economy, + won't for a long time to come.

Israel will still find itself at a serious disadvantage or outnumbered even iff many US-World Jews move to Israel en masse, + wid no sign of any Pro-Israel andor Non-Aligned = ?Moderate" Muslims showing signs of interest in conversion to Judaism - TAKEN COLLECTIVELY, IT MEANS ISRAEL HAS TO LOOK AT OTHER VIABLE OR REALISTIC OPTIONS TO SURVIVE AS THE ONLY PRO-DEMOCRACY, PRO-WESTERN, JUDAIC/HEBRAIC STATE IN THE MUSLIM ME.

IMO the best thing the US-West can do at the moment is allow Israel to formally join NATO + EU, set up US GMD-TMD there + KSA [Jordan?], + get NATO-EU Citizens including Russians to invest + move there. IFF A DE FACTO PRO-PEACE PALEO SOVEREIGN STATE EVER COMES INTO BEING, ISRAEL IS GONNA NEED ALL THE WESTERN HELP IT CAN GET TO SUPPORT THE NEW POLITY.

#2  If "certain people" got out of the way, I think Israel would end up owning the entire Muddled East in a few years -- or at least half of Lebanon, a huge chunk of Syria, and the Gaza and Sinai. This time, they need to just go ahead and annex the territory, kick out the Ayrabs, and build a new and prosperous nation where there hasn't been one since the Phonecians.

#1  move that would be an unprecedented step given decades in which the frontier has been a "frozen zone".

It was a "frozen zone" between Israel and Syria---is there Syria anymore?
