| Isis's dirty bomb: Jihadists have seized 'enough radioactive material to build their first WMD' |

| [INDEPENDENT.CO.UK] The Isis bad boy group has seized enough radioactive material from government facilities to suggest it has the capacity to build a large and devastating "dirty" bomb, according to Australian intelligence reports. Isis declared its ambition to develop weapons of mass destruction in the most recent edition of its propaganda magazine Dabiq, and Indian defence officials have previously warned of the possibility the Lions of Islam could acquire a nuclear weapon from Pakistain. According to the Australian foreign minister, Julie Bishop, NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A single organization with differing goals, equipment, language, doctrine, and organization.... has expressed deep concerns about the materials seized by Isis from research centres and hospitals that would normally only be available to governments. |

| #3 Back before I discovered Scientific American had a terminal case of Bush Derangement Syndrome, I read an article about the effects of a dirty bomb in Manhattan. Depending on the isotopes, some pretty expensive real estate would be uninhabitable for quite a few years. But the deaths from the radioactive release would pale compared to the carnage from the panic. I bet we'd find out how many liberal New Yorkers owned firearms! |

| #2 Let's say that they have a dirty bomb and use said DB in a largish city like Rome or Athens or Paris. What do you think the response of the squishy socialist left in the EU would do? What would they propose? |

| #1 Militarily, these weapons are useless but if released in a Western city the cost would be enormous. |
