...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(IS/ISIS), the joint forces of Burkan al-Furat and the People's Protection Units (YPG) reported advance in the western countryside of Tel Abyad (Gire Spi) in Raqqa province, northeastern Syria, and seized control of a several villages, military sources reported.

Speaking to ARA News on the phone, Sarhad Abbas, fighter in the ranks of the YPG forces said that their units, backed by Burkan al-Furat rebels, were able to advance for more than eight kilometers in the western countryside of Tel Abyad, taking over more than 10 villages southwest Tel Abyad.

Abbas explained that the joint forces took control of the villages of Bir Kino, Qzaali, al-Mabuja, Kor Hassan, Khirbat al-Baqar, al-Arida, Oum Hayesh, Farihan, and Shaaba.

The source pointed out that the festivities continue in other villages near the IS-held Tel Abyad, stretching from the Turkish border to the outskirts of the town of Ain Issa, including the villages of al-Hurriya, Daba, and Khirbet al-Fares.

In another development, the YPG's Media Center reported Friday new gains in the countryside of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) in Hasakah province, northeastern Syria, following battles with IS bandidos turbans in the area.

The YPG forces regained the villages of al-Ajil, Shamash, Katoum and a strategic hill west of Mabrouka town in Hasakah province.
