| Sharif approves expansion of operation in Sindh |

| [DAWN] KARACHI: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif ... served two non-consecutive terms as prime minister, heads the Pakistain Moslem League (Nawaz). Noted for his spectacular corruption, the 1998 Pak nuclear test, border war with India, and for being tossed by General Musharraf... approved on Wednesday expansion of the operation against hard boyz and snuffies to other areas of Sindh. He vowed to take the operation in Bloody Karachi ...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous... to its logical end and continue it till elimination of the last terrorist and restoration of peace in the city. Presiding over a meeting held at the Faisal Airbase to review the law and order situation in Karachi, the prime minister expressed satisfaction over the falling crime rate in the wake of the operation. He said there should be a fast track policy to capture the snuffies who had fled the Karachi operation and taken refuge in other parts of Sindh. |
