Watchdog: Scores of civilians killed in Syrian attack on ISIS stronghold
2015-03-18
[RUDAW.NET] Aerial attacks in November by Syrian forces on the city of Raqqa -- the "capital" of the so-called Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) -- killed scores of civilians and "may amount to war crimes," Amnesia Amnesty International (AI) said in a report Tuesday.
I've heard that war is Hell, especially for women, children, small, fuzzy things, and the human shields of the evil ones. It seems this is herewith once again demonstrated.
A series of Arclight airstrikes between November 11-29 "led to the deaths of up to 115 civilians, among them 14 children," the London-based international watchdog said in the report, titled "Al-Raqqa under attack: Syrian air force strikes against civilians."

#3  Assad will run out of cash long before ISIS runs out of human shields.

Could it be that Assad is reminding ISIS that Raqqa is not as safe as they'd previously believed? That their aura of invincibility is nothing more than the play of light on air, not an expression of Allah's shield over his most faithful?

#2  115 deaths over the course of 20 days? Putin needs to transfer some Badgers to Assad so he can speed things up. Assad will run out of cash long before ISIS runs out of human shields.
