| White House says ammo ban will save cops' lives |

| [WASHINGTONTIMES] The White House said Monday that President B.O. believes a ban on bullets commonly used with the AR-15 rifle will save coppers' lives. Cops are dropping left and right, shot with AR-15s. Right? "We are looking at additional ways to protect our brave men and women in law enforcement, and believe that this process is valuable for that reason alone," said White House press secretary Josh Earnest. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is accepting public comment on an administration proposal to ban .223 M855 "green tip" ammunition most often used with AR-15 rifles. House politicians from both parties, as well as sportsmen and some law enforcement officials, are objecting the move. Mr. Earnest called it a "common-sense step." "The president has long believed that there are some common-sense steps that we can take ... to ensure that we're protecting the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding Americans while also taking some common-sense steps to prevent people who shouldn't have guns from getting them," he said. "A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and don't have one, you'll probably never need one again." Mr. Earnest added, "This seems to be an area where everyone should agree that if there are armor-piercing bullets available that can fit into easily concealed weapons, that it puts our law enforcement at considerably more risk." |

| #15 The lefties are going after a particular type of ammunition even though there is no problem with it. If they were able to do this, they would then go after other ammunition, and then more. It is a way of disarming the population and trying to dodge the 2nd. The American people are an inconvenient impediment to their tyranny. Were the administration to try to disarm the population, there would be a great number of outlaws. These disarmament bozos really don't understand unintended consequences do they? They have no idea what they would unleash if they pursued such policies. |

Seems to me the biggest threat to the safety of LEOs are politicians and professional agitators fueling the moral decline of large segments of the population. |

| #12 Has there ever been a police officer killed with an M855 round? Have they ever been used in a crime at all, by a civilian I mean? Seems like police wear Level IIIA body armor, which would not defend against any .223, penetrator core or otherwise. |

Levy taxes now by Decree and completely ripping apart the constitution by doing the job Congress does. | #7 Time for those cops who 'fear' this to get out of the profession if its that much of a threat. There are others out there who can do the job (and have been in Afghanistan, Iraq, et al). You know prisons are the ultimate police state and still there are assaults, rapes, and murders. |
