Counseling helps 2,950 extremists mend ways

[ARABNEWS] Maj. Gen. Nasser Al-Mutairi, director of the Mohammed bin Nayef Center for Counseling and Care, said that his facility has reformed 2,950 young men who are now all fully integrated in society.

Nasser made these remarks on Monday, during a lecture at the headquarters of the Moslem World League, where several Saudi experts talked about the experience of fighting terrorism in the Kingdom. However,

Despite the grim data, 120 individuals coming from Guantanamo Bay were successfully integrated in society thanks to the center, with 98 percent of them giving up krazed killer ideas.

Al-Mutairi said the center has a five-year strategy based on three propositions: psychological treatment, rehabilitation and reintegration into society.

Abdulrahman Al-Hadlaq, head of Security Management in the Interior Ministry, said that the Kingdom has used different scientific methods to confront terrorism as well as a number of initiatives in different fields.

Part of these initiatives include tracking money transfers from banks, carefully monitoring charities, as well as creating new job opportunities for the youth.
