| Sweden prosecutes Syrian rebel for 'war crimes' |

| [ARA] On Thursday, a Swedish court sentenced a former Syrian rebel to five year on charges of torturing opponents in Syria. The charges were based on video footages published online showing the former opposition fighter while assaulting and torturing other Syrians. Mouhannad Droubi, 28, was jugged Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw! after Swedish coppers saw him in the video. In 2013, Droubi obtained permanent residency in Sweden. The court said Droubi, 28, was a fighter in the Free Syrian Army ... the more palatable version of the Syrian insurgency, heavily influenced by the Moslem Brüderbund... (FSA) at the time the video was taken, while his victim had been connected to the Syrian army. The Swedish court convicted him of committing a war crime, because of attacking a defenseless enemy. "This is the first time that we have tried a case related to the conflict in Syria as far as I know, and there are very few war crimes sentences," Swedish prosecutor Henrik Soderman told news hounds in Stockholm. |
