| [AnNahar] Masked gunnies have kidnapped 30 Shiite Moslem men who were traveling by bus through southern Afghanistan after returning from Iran, officials and a witness said on Tuesday. The men, members of the minority Hazara ethnic group, were seized on Monday evening in Zabul province, on the road between the western city of Herat ...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns... and the capital Kabul. |
