Syrians forcibly donate blood for injured ISIS militants in Raqqa
2015-02-13
[ARA] The Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group (IS/ISIS) forced civilians in Raqqa to donate blood to the group's bully boys, Syrian activists reported on Wednesday.

The Islamic State called on the residents of Raqqa in northeastern Syria to donate 0.5 kg of blood in private hospitals in the city, amid increased numbers of injured bully boy fighters from the group under Arclight airstrikes by the international coalition.

A local media activist told ARA News in Raqqa (under the condition of anonymity) that donating blood was done previously on a voluntary basis, pointing out that at the beginning of 2014, the number of donors reached dozens, especially during the pro-regime Arclight airstrikes that targeted civilians, where people spontaneously responded to calls for blood donation.

The IS hardline group is treating its patients and injured turbans in private hospitals, so as not to reveal corpse counts in battles or the number of those who fell during raids by the U.S.-led international coalition, the source added.

The exact number of casualties in the IS ranks remain unknown as the group avoids announcing any statistics in an attempt to hide any aspects of weakness from their enemies.

Local activists reported that the radical group, through such a tactic, is trying to maintain its image as a strong organization with high military capacities.

Commenting on the event, a Syrian Kurdish journalist news hound of al-Quds al-Arabi newspaper, Jiwan Soz, told ARA News: "Forcing civilians to donate blood is prohibited and inhuman, especially since the IS group does so randomly, regardless of the type of blood."

"The group is drawing blood in a primitive way without using the medical tools necessary for this process," Soz added.

"Civilians in Raqqa should donate blood through doctors, who do not deal with the IS radicals, in order to safeguard themselves from any danger they may be subjected-to in the future."

Notably, the IS restrictions against civilians increased in the last few weeks, especially after their expulsion by the Kurds from Kobane (Ain al-Arab) in the province of Aleppo, and the intensified strikes by the U.S.-led coalition forces on the group's major locations in Syria and Iraq.

#4  Nietsche said that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Really? Try "donating" two pints of blood. It probably won't kill you, but it definitely won't make you stronger.
