| [Kanuk Free Press] Screw you, Alaska. Obama has simply engaged in yet another assault on this nation's economic vitality. About a third of all the jobs in Alaska are connected to oil exploration and development. And the ability to keep the oil industry vibrant in Alaska is very much dependent on the Trans-Alaska pipeline. So you’d think an administration that claims to be about keeping good jobs viable would have an interest in seeing to it that oil continues to flow freely through the pipeline - not only for the sake of Alaska’s economic viability but also for the sake of the nation’s energy security and independence. |

| #4 I was in Alaska when Jimmy Carter put the entire known mineral provinces of Alaska into what is called D-2 National Parks and National Preserves. This shut down about 400 mines. The D-2 classification is land that is held in parks and preserves but at some time in the future can be mined. Basically all the known mineral deposits Alaskan were taken and held by the federal government so at some time in the future (once a dictator is installed) the elitists can own and mine them. This latest resource seizure is nothing more than Obama putting a vast oil reserve in trust that will be the property of an elitist at some time in the future. The logging industry has had similar seizures based upon the spotted owl, etc. |

| #3 A Republican POTUS and Republican Congress would be EXPECTED to work together and accomplish something. I am not at all certain they are up to the 'expectation.' I am likewise as uncertain as to exactly how much they differ in their basic beliefs about big government. With a few notable exceptions, the pubs appear to enjoy far too much, their role as yapping porch dogs. |
