New York Pol charged with corruption case - name that party.

[Rooters] - New York Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver was charged on Thursday with five criminal counts stemming from a lengthy corruption investigation, U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara said.

The political powerbroker, in the Assembly since 1977 and its most influential Democrat as speaker since 1994, was accused of fraud, conspiracy to commit fraud and other charges in using his "power and influence" to obtain "millions" in bribes and kickbacks, the criminal complaint said.
The law firms of Weitz & Luxenberg and Goldberg & Iryami joined NY State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman in saying 'there's nothing to be found here.'

In 2005, ten fokken long years ago, Irish commentator Bill O'Reilly of the Fox News Channel lambasted Silver for blocking legislation that would mandate restrictions on democrats child molesters after their sentences are finished (including possibly forcing them to become permanent residents in psychiatric wards).

#18  Please keep in mind that Mr. Silver is more or less aligned with Governor Cuomo. The Guv'nor himself is facing problems of his own; this certainly won't help.

Especially if there were plans for 2016.

#17  Could be John. Yes, career leaders at the FBI and DoJ may be preparing the battlefield for a post-Champ/post-Holder reality. No sense coming down on the bad side of a new Congress and a new administration on day one. Another motivating factor MAY be an intentional outing of the Clinton Foundation and all it's nefarious connections. I doubt career employees at the Bureau or DoJ are keen on the Hildebeest becoming their new boss.

#15  First came the story about New Mexico Sheriff Tommy Rodella and now this one about NY Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver. Both Rodella and Silver happen to be Democrats. What is interesting is that these charges were prosecuted by the DOJ. Is DOJ suddenly getting religion and upholding the law since Holder is on his way out?

I mean, why I would want to become a twenty year old girl with bad skin, yellow teeth, shapeless brows, and unwashed hair, appearing in public in a sweatsuit advertising nothing I would care to associate with, just to demonstrate fear of men, need not be asked. Nor would I ever be so silly as to demonstrate ignorance of the high fashion sluttiness that typifies Saudi women, at least, under their black bags. Mr. Wife was shocked, the first time he left Saudi airspace and the bags came off -- not the attire of women who want men to admire their minds and purity of spirit. Still, get the other women to believe that nonsense, and they'll be considerably less competition.

#1  If the FBI under a democratic scumbag attorney general arrests a Democratic scumbag politician in New York, it has to be very bad to the point of being embarrassing.

And if the Governor and the State Attorney General are giving the Seabee Salute on this, then they are in it up to their necks and possibly on the take as well.
