Netanyahu accepts invitation to address US Congress
2015-01-22
[IsraelTimes] White House says request by House speaker a breach of protocol; PM to speak on threats posed by Iran and radical Islam

Wednesday accepted an invitation to address the US Congress next month on the threat posed by Iran and radical Islam.

Netanyahu was reportedly also exploring the possibility of meeting with President Barack Obama
I am not a dictator!...
during his visit; however, the White House said the invitation by US Speaker of the House John It is not pronounced 'Boner!' Boehner
... the occasionally weepy leader of House Republicans...
came as a surprise to Obama's staff and was a breach or protocol.

Boehner said the "invitation carries with it our unwavering commitment to the security and well-being of [the Israeli] people."

In a statement posted on his website, Boehner said he had asked Netanyahu to comment on the threats stemming from radical Islam as well as the Iranian regime.

"Americans and Israelis have always stood together in shared cause and common ideals, and now we must rise to the moment again," he wrote.

Netanyahu is scheduled to address the joint session of Congress on February 11, the date of the 36th anniversary of the Iranian Revolution, marking the day the shah's regime fell.

Shortly after news of the invitation to Netanyahu broke, the White House said it was a breach of normal diplomatic protocol.

Obama's press secretary, Josh Earnest, said the White House had not heard from Jerusalem about whether Netanyahu planned to speak to Congress. Earnest added that the B.O. regime was reserving judgment about the invitation until it had a chance to speak to the Israelis about what Netanyahu might say.

He said typical protocol was that a country's leader would contact the White House before planning to visit the United States. But Earnest said the White House hadn't been given word of the invitation until Wednesday morning, shortly before Boehner announced it publicly.
Then there's this bit of idiocy -- it seems their intelligence wgency is as full of bright ideas as ours:

#12  Not having to meet with either of these foks is definite plus for Netanyahu.

At least he doesn't have to put up with unwanted sexual advances from Kerry this way.

#10  TFG, with his executive orders, suddenly concerned about protocol.

#9  Not having to meet with either of these foks is definite plus for Netanyahu. An open and intelligent conversation with either would be impossible and quite frankly, disgusting.

#7  Protocals, eh?

So I guess when Calderon spoke before the US Congress and blasted our immigration laws, lampooned that our drug use has no tie to their drug supplying, and blamed the entire US population for the Fast and Furious Program arming drug cartels...

That was completely according to protocal.

Did y'all get a preview of that speech there Chuck?

#6  Skipping protocol isn't near as damning as skipping laws, et tu Barack?

#5  'Protocols' include bowing to the Saudi king and Japan's Emporer to show US deference to all..(except of course any Isralie). It's in the Constitutions unwritten section.

#4  Anyone remember when Queen Nancy went to Syria, Gazoo, Israel,Etc... while Bush was President? She tried to do a little more than give a speech.

#3  Netanyahu should give them a read-ahead.

If the administration disagrees with the content and refuses entry to Netanyahu the content of his speech will be made public anyway.

The administration however would openly put itself in the position of an ally of Iran against Israel. Bad politics in the US!

If the administration lets Netanyahu in then Iran will perceive this as Obama giving tacit approval. This will fuel distrust and suspicion between the Mullahs and the White House.

A win-win for Netanyahu.

If they did, heads will roll---they're not an independent fiefdom like Besoeker's Klingons.

The most transparent administration in history requires a read-ahead from an ally and congressional guest speaker? What happens if the regime is provided a read-ahead, and the senior White House advisor and Iranian apologist does not agree with the content ?
