It's genuine enough, but never discount Short Attention Span Syndrome. There's another editorial in Dawn today that quotes an army chief speech in he sez they're going after extremism, by gum, no distinction between "good" and "bad" Talibs. The army chief was Musharraf, the speech issued in January 2002.
