Petraeus charged with giving classified info to girlfriend
2015-01-10
[DailyMail] He has consistently denied giving Ms. Broadwell any access to classified material and, according to the paper, has told the judge he will not accept a plea deal.
He must have really po'd ValJar.
They must really think he's still a viable candidate to be .. something or other...

#17  If he keeps his zipper up and mouth closed none of this happens.

(Not exactly the same, but this one only faced disbarment)

#16  "Besoeker and Frank are correct, imho. The Donks are salting the earth with this one."

Might be true - but he handed it to them on silver platter. If he keeps his zipper up and mouth closed none of this happens.

#15  Besoeker and Frank are correct, imho. The Donks are salting the earth with this one.

#14  Ike didn't have plans either. The oligarchy has got to maintain control over the selection process. You get who they want you to have.

Playing cheap theater to keep the man out of the 2016 presidential game will have its price, a very steep price.

I respectfully submit my opinion that Petraeus doesn't have any presidential ambitions of his own, as he's stated himself numerous times. OTOH, he no doubt has enough back-channel knowledge to do a fine job of poisoning the well for Shrillary.

#12  I'm with Frank on this one.

Petraeus knows how Benghazi went down and why and he knows who mangled the talking points for Suzie (what comes out of a chinaman's ass) Rice.

I think he got tired of the threats and the silence. Besides, the Republican Congress and Senate could make DOJ's life pure hell if they actually tried to bring this fiasco to court. We might finally get Petraeus to testify on the Benghazi investigation...congressional amnesty anyone?

#11  Very possible Frank. Very possible indeed.

Petraeus met with the PAK Minister of Defense less than two weeks prior to the Ben Ladin take down at Abbattabad. He knows exactly what went down and how.

#10  perhaps he chafed at the extortion and has decided to call their bluff

#9  Another thing.....were either of them poly'd? Standard Counterintelligence (CI) Poly or Lifestyle? If they were, what were the results of the adjudication ?

The old 'Have you ever passed classified information to an unauthorized source....' question....usually leaves an ink spur if you're hiding something. Most folks who know they're subject to routine or periodic polygraphs don't fok around or move into grey areas. Petraeus and Broadwell may have enjoyed a good BJ like the rest of us, but they're weren't stupid. Careless and indiscrete possibly, but not stupid. Just say'n.

#8  I don't know Billy, she had to have some sort of badge to gain access to his workspace, or be escorted as a 'Red Badge.' If there was a breach of security, security violation, or unauthorized access...where's the U.S. Army 15-6 investigation? Why is it now being handled by DoJ years later?

This thing smells.

#5  Mr B - I hear what you're saying and live in this world everyday. I'd love to see the JPAS/badge request. My hunch is that it doesn't exist. She was acting in the capacity of a journalist - not in a "need to know" position (pun intended).

He willfully and knowingly gave her information she was not cleared for - might have even done in an insecure area (like a bedroom).

Politics aside - he made some huge personal and professional mistakes. His public future will be similar to that of John Edwards.

#4  Any physical access and security badge to Petreaus's HQ that Broadwell would have had to have been granted by a Special Security Officer (SSO). The SSO accomplishes this via a Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET) Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) bring-up. If she had the 'tickets' [security clearance], she got the badge, access, and any information a general officer deemed 'need-to-know' and appropriate.

I'm fond of neither Petraeus or Broadwell, but there is definitely much more to this bullshi* accusation and story than we are hearing.

#3  Thank you DoJ, you've just established your own future if and when there's a regime change. Enough material exists out there for your own prosecution.

#2  What a bunch of BS. In decades to come we will most likely learn, far too late, of real spies (think Aldrich Ames) who are doing great damage and who are NOT being charged or investigated for the usual reasons.

#1  has told the judge he will not accept a plea deal.

Of course he will not accept a plea deal. Who do they think they're dealing with, Joe Shi* the Rag Man? Show us what you've got you smarmy, vengeful, communist bastids! Broadwell was and may still be a Reserve Military Intelligence officer with a TS/SCI clearance. Perhaps I've missed something, but I've not heard of her clearance being suspended or downgraded. No discussions to my knowledge involving Broadwell being brought up on charges of any kind.

Either Petraeus is no longer useful to them, or he has refused to further participate in the regime's long-running campaign of criminal obfuscation and debauchery. Perhaps he's getting ready to release his own book.
