#5  To clarify, some of the Iraqi aircraft that ended up in Iran during Desert Storm have reportedly been returned by Iran.

There may be Iranian pilots flying the now-Iraqi aircraft.

#4  Good point, Pappy: perhaps the pilots were just running a few chores while returning the planes. Drop off the laundry, drop the kids at school, drop some bombs, ordinary stuff...

#2  Russian-supplied SU-25, most likely. Also possible - Cessna 208Bs and Mi-35 HINDs.
