Perv backs Imran's anti-govt campaign
2014-12-10
KARACHI -- Endorsing Imran Khan's anti-government movement, former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf has said that he would invite Pakistan Tehree-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan to join his political alliance.

Last week, he unveiled his plan to unite Muslim League factions on one platform. In a brief chat with a private TV channel on Tuesday, Musharraf said he supports Imran’s ongoing movement against the government. "I will also welcome Tahirul Qadri if he is willing to join our alliance," he said. The former military ruler opined that an empowered government should be formed to pull Pakistan out of crises.

Musharraf, who is being tried for high treason, said that army should be given a constitutional role in government under National Security Council. The military should also put check and balance on governance, he said. The former strongman, however, opposed the role of prime spy agency Inter-Services Intelligence in politics.
Unless he's back in charge and in control of the ISI...
