Hamid quits ministerial portfolio after verdict
2014-11-23
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Science and Technology Zahid Hamid Khan on Friday tendered his resignation following the inclusion of his name in the high treason case against Pervez Musharraf. The minister has confirmed his resignation and that it had been forwarded to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for approval.
Poor Hamid. Wait. Who?
Talking to Daily Times, the newly appointed spokesman of Prime Minister, Dr Musadaq Malik said the premier is yet to accept Hamid's resignation. He dismissed as mere speculations the reports that Hamid's resignation was accepted.

"His resignation has been received and the PM and his team members are considering all the legal aspects regarding this issue," he said.
He's toast...
A special court trying former dictator Pervez Musharraf for high treason on Thursday directed the government to add Zahid Hamid's name to the charge sheet against Musharraf because Hamid was the law minister when the ex-general imposed emergency on November 3, 2007, to abrogate the constitution, on the alleged advice of the then Law Ministry headed by Hamid. Zahid Hamid is a lawyer by profession and had been a civil servant.
