| [DAWN] ISLAMABAD: About 56 cases were registered against the Khateebs of worship places for violating the ban on the use of loudspeakers for delivering speeches during Friday prayers. A senior police officer said the cases were registered till 9:20pm and complaints against 16 more khateebs had also been lodged. The 16 cases will also be registered soon, he added. Last Friday, the police booked 77 Khateebs for the violation of the ban. However, Caliphornia hasn't yet slid into the ocean, no matter how hard it's tried... no arrest was made in connection with the cases, he said. The police had got undertaking from all the Khateebs in the capital city that they would not violate the ban. "The ban aimed at checking the use of loudspeakers for hate speeches against any sect." |
