Susan Rice is Managing the War on ISIS, Not the Pentagon |
2014-11-01 |
The Pentagon brass placed in charge of implementing Obama’s war against ISIS are getting fed up with the short leash the White House put them on. Top military leaders in the Pentagon and in the field are growing increasingly frustrated by the tight constraints the White House has placed on the plans to fight ISIS and train a new Syrian rebel army. As the American-led battle against ISIS stretches into its fourth month, the generals and Pentagon officials leading the air campaign and preparing to train Syrian rebels are working under strict White House orders to keep the war contained within policy limits. The National Security Council has given precise instructions on which rebels can be engaged, who can be trained, and what exactly those fighters will do when they return to Syria. Most of the rebels to be trained by the U.S. will never be sent to fight against ISIS. |

#13 JMK, yes I do remember LBJ saying something like that. The cartoonish arrogance of that attitude, aptly quoted by Frank, seems to be a defining characteristic of Democrats. Jimmuh and Operation Eagle Claw? Wee Willie C. and Operation Desert Fox? Anyone else see a pattern? |

#12 Is this what happens when your mom's name is Stanley? As Freud would say: The answer to your question is Yes! |

#11 “I think that I’m a better speechwriter than my speechwriters,” Mr. Obama told Patrick Gaspard, his political director, at the start of the 2008 campaign, according to The New Yorker. “I know more about policies on any particular issue than my policy directors. |

#9 Anyone here remember Lyndon Johnson's quote during Vietnm about micromanaging? They (the military) can't bomb an outhouse without my permission. I think we are repeating history. Oh wait we aren't teaching history anymore. |

#7 Any ideas of what the "tiniest of details" are? I think such a list would be very funny to see.......except for the fact that it may get soldiers killed. |

#6 Ref #1: In the cases of Rice, ValJar, Pelosi, Oprah, and Beyoncé Knowles it may have something to do with the money. |

#3 Here's a consoling thought for you. Imagine how frustrated (We've lost our Empire to what?!) it makes the Russians feel. |

#1 Where the f... did Obama get all these weird women in his administration? It's like they are aliens or something. I would be hard pressed to find such odd ladies in the rest of the population. |
