ISIL, Kurds continue fierce fighting in Syria's Kobani
2014-10-26
[Iran Press TV] Fierce festivities have resumed between ISIL Takfiri

holy warriors and Kurdish fighters in Syria's northern town of Kobani, which has been under siege by ISIL for over a month.

Reports coming out of the town on Saturday said ISIL had made a new attempt to capture Kobani.

The holy warriors attacked the Kurdish forces with mortar and heavy machinegun fire before dawn.

This came after Kurdish fighters had gained control of a strategic hill overlooking the town on Friday.

Meanwhile,
...back at the shouting match, the spittle had reached unprecedented levels...
Iraq's semi-autonomous Kurdistan Region has decided to send reinforcement troops to Kobani next week to aid Kurds.

Kobani and its surroundings have been under attack since mid-September, with the ISIL holy warriors capturing dozens of nearby Kurdish villages.

The ISIL advance in the region has forced tens of thousands of Syrian Kurds to flee into Turkey, which is a stone's throw from Kobani.

Turkey continues to block any delivery of military, medical or humanitarian assistance into Kobani where the ISIL Death Eaters are feared to be aiming at massive bloodletting.

Analysts say Ankara, having already won the US green light, plans to let the Death Eaters seize the Kurdish town of Kobani before sending tanks and troops to fight them in a bid to capture and possibly annex the Syrian territory.

#7  I doubt "Delta Force" [Tier One SOF] is being used in Kobani. More likely Tier Two and some specialized communicators. Just my guess.

#6  Video of some ISIS fighters immolated on a hill they probably wish they had not taken in Kobane. I wouldn't be surprised if SAS/DF had something to do with this. :-)

#5  FSA (Free Syrian Army) has offered to send 1,300 fighters to Kobane. Turkey who refuses to allow Kurdish reinforcements to cross over has approved. Suspicious Kobane Kurdish Commanders have rejected the FSA offer and have instructed them to instead take on ISIS in the areas of Syria that the FSA are currently stationed.

#1  British SAS and US Delta Force have been on the ground around Kobane for 2 weeks.

A team of British special forces were dispatched to the Turkish- Syrian border to help brave Kurdish fighters battle against Islamic State (IS) gunmen.

The British troops called in several air strikes, killing dozens of IS fighters and halting their advance towards Kobane, just inside the Syrian border.

In one attack, SAS guided warplanes into an area where IS fi ghters were massing for an attack The US jets dropped several 500lb bombs into the area, killing and injuring dozens of fighters.

In another strike the SAS pinpointed the location of a large convoy of tanks, armoured personnel carriers and ammo trucks heading towards the area. An SAS team hiding in the surrounding hills directed two US combat planes into the area.

The pilots then swooped on the convoy, destroying the vehicles with missiles and bombs. One source last night said: “The SAS deployed to the area around Kobane a couple of weeks ago and have done themselves proud.

“They have done this at no small risk to themselves. If their positions had been identified by IS they would have been lucky to escape with their lives. “The conditions for the British soldiers have been very testing."

“Their role in the battle for Kobane probably saved hundreds of lives”

“It’s been extremely hot, they were living on meagre rations and had to be sparing with water.

Sources added that US Delta Force troops and the SAS were able to cut off fl anking assaults by IS militants trying to encircle the town.

With SAS and Delta Force hiding in the hills around Kobane and Kurdish forces in Kobane all calling in airstrikes, ISIS standins no chance of capturing Kobane.
