#3 Taking Kobane would mean gaining a direct line of access between it and Aleppo. It's also one of the last areas in northern Syria that IS doesn't control. It also isolates the Syrian Kurds from Turkey. so it's not only the IS that benefits by the area being taken. |

#1 Yes, dated mid-Oct, but contains some good photos and as the TW indicates, Kobane is still relevant to the ISIS strategic mission. |
