US Reports 18 Strikes Against Islamic Militants In Syria, Iraq
2014-10-23
[Ynet] The United States conducted further air strikes against Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
forces on Tuesday and Wednesday, targeting the murderous Moslem group near Iraq's djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
Dam and the Syrian border town of Kobani, according to US Central Command.

A US-led coalition conducted 12 air strikes near the Mosul Dam complex in northern Iraq, it said in a statement. US forces also conducted six air strikes close to Kobani near Syria's border with Turkey, it said.

#11  Maybe the headline should have read: "US Reports FA-18 Strikes Against Islamic Militants In Syria, Iraq

#10  Many times when a skirmish starts, the Kurds will withdraw and allow ISIS to take the objective, only to call in an airstrike to destroy ISIS when they occupy an objective.

This was the case at Tilsehir hill.

#9  "Kurds report many of the reinforcements who are killed have international ID's"

Good! Less trouble back home.

#8  Is there another kind?

Yes. The hard boys. The ones who have been fighting the Syrians and the anti-Syrian rivals for three years.

They're using the dross, the wannabes. They got plenty to of them to throw at the Kurds. Wear the Kurds down. Tie or use up assets that could be used elsewhere.

Lemme know when you start seeing reports of dead Iraqi, Syrian or Chechen IS

#7  Hmm. I think I just figured out a safe way to dispose of all those cluster bombs that we are supposed to stop using by 2018 . . . .

#6  Meaning IS is sending in the expendables.

Is there another kind? Brains are clearly not required.

#4  ISIS continues to move fighters into the Kobane conflict and US aircraft and Kurdish fighters continue to destroy those forces.

#2  Agreed, yet I can't help but wonder where we'd be today if air strikes had started when Pencilneck cross Champ's "Red Line" a couple of years ago.

#1  18??? EIGHTEEN???

Geez, if you are going to stop ISIS with air assets, the number of strikes should be 118 or 1118 not 18, that's not very impressive or very "Resolved".
