| Alaseema TV reporter kidnapped in Tripoli |

| [Libya Herald] A TV presenter with Alassema TV station was reported to have been seized in Tripoli ...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn... this evening by an gang and taken to an unknown destination. Maad Al-Tleeb was in the capital's Salahaddin district with a friend when, at around 7 pm this evening, a white Chevrolet pulled over and three men in military uniform and armed with Kalashnikovs got out and grabbed him. According to the friend, he had seen Al-Tleeb being taken to the nearby Yarmouk camp, currently controlled by Libya Dawn ...aka Fajr Libya, the Islamist operation launched to counter that of General Khalifa Haftar (Operation Dignity). It is made up of the Libya Shield militia (Misrata and Moslem Brotherhood), Libya Revolutionaries Operations Room (Moslem Brotherhood), and Tripoli Brigade (close to Abdul Hakim Belhaj, head of Al-Watan party). Financing and moral support come from Turkey and Qatar... forces, The news hound's family are said to have gone to the camp but were told by the camp commander that no one had been taken there today. Based in the capital, Alaseema (which means Capital in Arabic) has taken a consistently pro-army, pro-police, pro-HoR and anti-Ansar al-Sharia ...a Salafist militia which claims it is not part of al-Qaeda, even though it works about the same and for the same ends. There are groups of the same name in Libyaand Yemen, with the Libyan versions currently most active. Tunisia's Shabaab al-Tawhid started out an Ansar al-Sharia and changed its name in early 2014. It still uses the old name now and then, probably because the stationery's not all used up and the web site hasn't expired yet... and anti-Moslem Brüderbund stand. It also has been subject to regular attacks ‐ it is thought as a result. |
