| Guard killed as shrine caretaker survives attack |

| [DAWN] The caretaker of a shrine survived an armed attack in which one of his guards was killed and another maimed in Manghopir on Friday, police said. They added that Jan Mohammed aka Khan Baba was on his way from Manghopir to the Saki Hasan area when gunnies intercepted his vehicle near the Qalandria Hotel and sprayed it with bullets. Jan Mohammed remained unhurt while his two guards suffered bullet wounds. They were taken to a private hospital where one of them, identified as Bashir Ahmed, was pronounced dead. Manghopir SHO Ghulam Hussain Korai said that they were collecting information about the incident as the area, where the incident took place, came in the jurisdiction of three different cop shoppes. |
