Iran Offers 8-Point Plan to Counter Extremism
2014-09-21
[ABNA.IR] In the UN Security Council debate on the situation concerning Iraq, held in New York on Friday, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Seyed Abbas Araqchi lashed out at the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) terrorist group for its "abhorrent brutality and shocking savagery".

Pointing to a so-called international coalition against the ISIL, the Iranian official called on the coalition members to pursue a serious strategy.

Araqchi then put forward an eight-point proposal, which he said a comprehensive strategy to defeat extremism should include.

#3  He was counting on those like me who have a short attention span--I should have known better. It's always about the fake claim that the Jews are illegally occupying so-called Arab lands in Israel. ISIL and Iran are on the same page on that one as are the other Muslim countries.

Maybe we should require a Number 9 condition where Iran stops their nuke weapon program as a condition or gets destroyed--except that doesn't happen under this feckless president.

#1  Had trouble getting past Points 1 and 3. Fighting according to UN principles? What might they be? Point 3 focuses on encouraging all states and tapping all capacities in the region to fight the war against extremism and terrorism… Iran has been a big supporter of terrorism in the region, are they going to stop this? Iran has a lot of chutzpah since their fingers and hands all over regional terrorism.
