Turkey backs al-Qaeda in Syria: Former US envoy
2014-09-15
[Iran Press TV] A former US ambassador to Ankara has accused Turkey of directly supporting al-Qaeda's terrorist activities in Syria.

Francis Ricciardone, who was the US envoy to Ankara until late June, said the Turkish authorities thought they could work with bully boy groups operating inside Syria and at the same time push them to become more moderate.

Ricciardone further noted that he tried to convince the Turkish government to close its borders to the groups, but of no avail.

#2  ["NO TIME FOR SERGEANTS" WILY USAF GENERAL EUGENE BUSH = "THATS RIDICULOUS ABOUT TURKEY, ITS NOT EVEN 2040-2050 YET"!].

IMO The more likely or pragmatic outcome is that, over time = few decades [2030-2050], the ISIS aka ISIL will be effective in destabilizing + taking over most or all of the Turkish Govt-Army.

Ditto IRAN???

* GROONG > [American Thinker] THE END OF TURKEY AS AN ALLY!?

* SAME > ISTANBUL: WILL NATO SET UP MILITARY BASES IN AZERBAIJAN?

Thus hindering alleged Neo-Ottoman Turkey's "Pan-Turkic/Turkic Union" agenda???

Appears to be something of a virus.
