2014-09-07
[WASHINGTONTIMES] Sen. Bernie Sanders
...The only openly Socialist member of the U.S. Senate. Sanders was Representative-for-Life from Vermont until moving to the Senate for the rest of his life in 2006, assuming the seat vacated by Jim Jeffords...
, a self-described socialist, called for a progressive estate tax on multi-millionaires and billionaires during a speech on Saturday.

Recently attempted to de facto ban artisan cheese
Booze will disqualify you from health care

Its like the Tom Hanksathon last night; can't show Bachelor Party anymore.

#11  And yet the rich are the only ones doing well during the dhimocrat's reign. The middle class and the poor are losing wealth at an alarming rate.

All by design.

#5  Make no mistake, progressives have eyed the hundreds of billions residing in IRA's and thrifty saver's portfolios for years. The feckless beltway thieves cannot responsibly execute the existing budget. Why give them a farthing more ?

#4  The USA already has hefty federal and state inheritance taxes, although with large exemptions. Unlike Canada which has none at all.

The problem is that the more money someone has the more they can spend on lawyers and accountants to avoid paying the tax.

Not only do wealth taxes not work, they harm the economy by channeling money offshore and into unproductive assets.
