Speaking to media representatives, Home Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfaraz Bugti said security forces had received a tip off regarding the presence of arms and ammunition and conducted operations in the two areas.

"Miscreants wanted to carry out major terror activities in Balochistan," Bugti said.

"Security personnel are interrogating the detained suspects," he said.

A huge cache of arms and ammunition was dumped underground in a compound which was recovered during the operation in Quetta.

three suspects in an operation conducted at a house in Faisal Colony of Dalbandin area. The suspects were accused of dumping weapons to carry out terrorist activities in several areas of the province.

Arms and ammunition seized by security forces included anti-tank mines, rockets, hand grenades, detonators and other weapons.

Bugti said that timely action on part of security forces saved the province from two major subversive activities.

Senior FC officials also flanked the Home Minister during the display of arms held at Madadgar Center.

Militants in recent weeks have intensified their activities in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan.
