House clears way for lawsuit against Obama
2014-08-01
[Washington Post] House Republicans voted to proceed with a lawsuit against President B.O. on Wednesday, saying that his executive actions are so extreme that they violate the Constitution.

The nearly party-line vote — all Democrats voted against it, and all but five Republicans voted for it — further agitated an already polarized climate on Capitol Hill as both parties used the pending suit to try to rally support ahead of the November elections.

Halfway across the continent, Obama almost gloated at the prospect of being sued.

"They're going to sue me for taking executive actions to help people. So they're mad I'm doing my job," Obama said in an economics speech in Kansas City, Mo. "And by the way, I've told them I'd be happy to do it with you. The only reason I'm doing it on my own is because you're not doing anything," he said of Congress.

#11  ANyhoo, this may simply be turned back at Congress with the words "power of the purse", and the directive fro Congress not to fund it if they don't like it.

Not my desired outcome - I'd rather see the courts strike down all these "executive order" types of law making, be it form Bush, or Obama. The Imperial Presidency is a threat to the essential structure and liberty of this nation, and will eventually destroy it.

#10  I wonder if that fu**ing narcissistic progressive ahole in the White House might ever stop to think that DOING NOTHING may be exactly what the country wants, compared to all his doing the wrong things...

#9  Myth 2: The Supreme Court held in Raines v. Byrd (1997) that Congress can’t challenge the execution of a law.

What about challenging the failure to uphold the law and not having the Executive Branch re-write a law?

#7  The only reason I'm doing it on my own is because you're not doing anything," he said of Congress.

And that is for the American people to decide on election day, Mr. Obumble.

Top Ten Myths about the HouseÂ’s Proposed Suit Against Obama
H.Res. 676 raises some interesting legal issues, but much of the pushback against it is misguided.

#4  The American public, having received legal training by watching Judges Wapner, Judy, Joe Brown, Greg Mathis, Hatchett, etc. will not have a clue what the lawsuit is about (Constitution Article 2) nor why it is important.

The Libs and their complicit press will turn any attempt of an actual suit into a "look how much they hate Obama" sideshow.

#2  A legal determination regarding the 'separation of powers' is badly needed.

Not the enforcement of already existing laws?

#1  Halfway across the continent, Obama almost gloated at the prospect of being sued.

That's because in his narcissistic, dagga infected brain he believes it's all about him, when actually, it is not. A legal determination regarding the 'separation of powers' is badly needed.
