[DAWN] A shopkeeper was rubbed out and his two friends were maimed in an attack apparently on sectarian grounds in Sharifabad on Wednesday evening.Police said that Adeel Abbas, 30, was sitting in his general store in Federal B Area with his two friends when four assailants riding two cycle of violences emerged there, opened fire on them and rode away. Abbas was struck down in his prime while his friends — Shahzad and Mansoor — were shifted to a private hospital on Stadium Road for treatment.
The police said that the victims were Shia.
A spokesperson for the Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Mohammedaneen said that the victim was a local officer-bearer of their organization in F.B Area and it was a targeted attack.
