Russia on Iraq: 'We told you so'
2014-06-16
[WashPost] These days, we're pretty used to Russian criticisms of U.S. foreign policy, and the finger wagging that comes afterward: Russia loves to remind the United States that it warned against its international follies.

#12  No booze in Iraq. I don't think that uncle joe would make it.

#11  At this point what difference does it make?

Let's try a new strategy:

1. You were right, we messed up by showing up, and we messed up by leaving.

2. Iraq can only be governed by a strong leader.

3. We are going to fix it now by sending Sheriff Joe Biden, who will be your new al-Supremo-Presidente, or الرئيس عظمى قوية if that is how you roll.

4. You Iraqis will accept him as your new super leader or everyone there will suffer the wrath of Obama.

5. Shut up.

#10  I wish we could get LTC(R) West to move back to Georgia and re-enter the political fray.

#9  Besoeker: y'all need to get y'all'selves a decent Aryan governor like Jindal or Haley.

#8  It wouldn't have taken five years of passive-aggressive anti-cooperation to lose it if it were lost already.

#7  Actually we're doing well now that Cantor is leaving. Still got a few more leftests to go however; Schumer, Boxer, Feinstein, Waxman Levin to name a few. I'm optimistic.

Why do you ask ?

#6  Thing, it you who are dishonest. The war in Iraq was lost the moment "Nation Building" started.

p.s. How's democracy in America working out?

#5  Just think - the Burg gets both Russian and Israeli finger-wagging in one acerbic package.

Talk about convenience.

#4  I hear the shrill cries of the Left still criticizing George W. for going into Iraq. According to them, it is George W.'s fault for the present situation. They are still unwilling to admit their guy is in way over his head. Basically, they have no plan and don't know what to do.

#3  You and the Russians are being fundamentally dishonest because there's no real plan that could survive five years' worth of "management" by someone who wants it to fail. By refusing to acknowledge Obama's malice in this area y'all are both lying by omission.

#2  Both Ariel Sharon & Saudi king told you to chose a nice (one with good memory) Sunni general, and make him the new Rais. But no, that was not according to Fukuyama.

#1  *WE* told you so, being the military and anyone that knew the region, back in 2010 that the 2011 withdrawal was too sudden and far too soon. But noooo, Obama needed a campaign talking point, so Hillary gave him one. We are now paying the price for their cluelessness and shortsighted stupidity..
