2014-05-27 |
[MAGHAREBIA] Reformed jihadists, researchers and members of civil society met in Casablanca last week to discuss religious discourse. The conference was organised on May 21st by the Modernist Space for Development and Co-existence (EMDC). Moroccan cleric Abou Hafs (Mohamed Abdelwahab Rafiki), who spent nine years in prison in connection with the May 16th, 2003 Casablanca bombings, was among the participants. Initially sentenced to 30 years in prison, the former salafist militant received a royal pardon in February 2012. |
