| Al Q affilate hits Shiite targets in Beirut at least 5 dead |

| Five people have been killed and at least 80 injured after two explosions hit a southern area of the Lebanese capital Beirut on Wednesday, according to Lebanon's health ministry. Al-Qaeda linked Abdullah Azzam Bridages have claimed responsibility for the twin attacks on its Twitter account. "The brothers of the Abdullah Azzam Brigades, of the Hussein bin Ali Brigades claim the attack against the Iranian cultural centre, which was a double martyrdom operation," the group's Twitter account said. |

| #3 I should have mentioned: adbullah azzam was a 20th century paleo islamic theologian who provided fatwa's that redefined defensive jihad to allow it in conditions that had not previously been justified; he was a mentor to Osama b Laden for a few years hussein ibn ali was a 7th century leader who is highly regarded by shiites and sometimes thought of as the third (or some say first) iman of the shia; he was killed by the Umayad forces at the battle of karbala; this event is commemorated in the shia ceremonies of ashura - I don't have a clue why a sunni terrorist group is using this name - it is probably a false flag |
