| Gedo Commissioner: we will wipe Al-Shabaab from region |

| Mohamed Abdi Kaliil, Commissioner of the Gedo Regional Administration of the Somali government, after giving an interview to Radio Shabelle in Mogadishu, stated that recently in his region the Ethiopian troops have started advancing against the Al-Shabaab movement. The Gedo Regional Administration Commissioner added that the Ethiopian troops are serving under AMISOM working alongside Somali peacekeepers to protect Somalia against Al-Shabaab, by wiping them from territories and provinces they were hiding in the region. In the past, territories and vicinities of the Gedo region have been simultaneously attacked by high-ranking members of Al-ShabaabÂ’s fighters. |
