| Heavy kabooms in Marka town |

| News from Marka the headquarter town of the volatile Lower Shabelle region say that confrontations and heavy explosions were heard after an AMISOM armored vehicles hunted down Alshabab fighters between El Kanin and Danane divisions. Residents of the Marka town confirmed to Shabelle radio in Mogadishu that the hunt down changed to a heavy confrontation between the fighting sides. The exact figure of casualties suffered by the fighting sides has not yet been established yet. On the other side, a blast occurred in Marka town targeting an AMISOM water tank. The AMISOM troops opened gunfire immediately after the blast killing 1 civilian. Both AMISOM troops and Alshabab fighters are yet to comment on the fighting in the lower Shabelle region. |
