GovÂ’t officer shot dead in Burhakaba, Bay region

BURHAKABA -- According to local residents, unknown assailants in Somalia have on Thursday night shot and killed a GovÂ’t officer in Burhakaba in Bay region, the latest in series of killings on Somali officials in the district.

The Eyewitnesses who declined to be unnamed

told Shabelle Media Station in Mogadishu that the victim whose name has been released as Abdi Hassan was gunned down and wounding his a security guard by masked men armed with pistols in Burhakaba.

The killers have managed to escape immediately from the crime scene before Somali security forces arrived at the spot and begun massive crackdown to hunt down the perpetrators.
Dang, that reads like an anti-crossfire...
So far, Burhakaba authority in Bay region for Somali federal Government did not comment on the murder of the officer in the town.
