Russia evacuates embassy in Libya after attack |
2013-10-04 |
[BBC.CO.UK] All staff and family members have been evacuated from the Russian embassy in Libya after gunnies attacked the compound in the capital, Tripoli ...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn... The foreign ministry in Moscow announced that the evacuees had arrived in neighbouring Tunisia, from where they planned to fly back to Russia. It suggested the incident was a Dire Revenge™ attack after the alleged killing of a Libyan by a Russian citizen. Two Libyans were reportedly also killed during the assault on the embassy. The Russian foreign ministry said its diplomats in Tunis would maintain ties with Libya. |
