| Tizi Ouzou villagers reject salafist imam |

| [MAGHAREBIA] Residents of the blood-stained Tizi Ouzou town of Imzizou on Thursday (July 11th) demanded the expulsion of a controversial salafist imam, Tout sur l'Algerie reported. Algerians from several surrounding villages joined in the protest at the Fréha government administration site, claiming that the imam did not abide by their traditions and was trying to impose salafist practices. The demonstration followed the refusal of the imam to perform a traditional funeral ritual. |
