Kremlin-backed Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov said his republic is safer than the United Kingdom in response to the British Foreign Office's warning against travel to the North Caucasus.His Twitter account said, "England's Foreign Office warns against visits to the North Caucasus. I am stating with entire responsibility that it is safer in Chechnya than in England! Welcome!"
On Friday, Britain's Foreign Office issued a warning against trips to Chechnya, Ingushetia, Dagestan and some area of the Stavropol region. The list also included North Ossetia, Karachay-Cherkessia and Kabardino-Balkaria.
