Gertz: North Korea missile can hit US with nuclear warhead, Pentagon report says
2013-05-03
"However, a space launch does not test a re-entry vehicle (RV), without which North Korea cannot deliver a weapon to target from an ICBM," the report said, apparently a caveat to the classified assessment made public last month.

#11  Dick Gregory once noted that back in the 60's China didn't have an ICBM but they did have the bomb. He suggested to still worry because with 1 billion little yellow guys they could just walk it over from there:)

#10  If they just want to cause havoc, no re-entry is needed, nor does it have to be particularly accurate.

#6  IIRC, while nobody 'fessed up, there was a NOTAM warning to avoid the area at the time.

#5  #2 Just put the missile on a boat and sail it into San Francisco Bay before detonating the warhead.

Just be sure *not* to hide it, in fact place a big "THIS IS A NUCLEAR DEVICE TO BLOW UP SAN-FRANCISCO" sign on it, and make sure to send send U.S. Homeland security several written notice (with lots of pictures) that you are doing it.

That way they (Homeland [in]Security) will be sure to miss it.

#1  So-o-o IIUC, + SSSSSSHHHH China's covert threat aside, Gertz is basically saying that a properly guesstimated DPRK ICBM can LAND in CONUS, where hitting its target wid any degree of accuracy is ACCIDENTAL.

Methinks we knew that already, but its nice to know Gertz has made it "official".
