Army patrol bombed, ambushed in southern Thailand |

Several soldiers were wounded when a bomb destroyed their patrol vehicle and gunmen then opened fire at them in Pattani province on Tuesday. Members of a special task force were patroling a local road in an armored vehicle when the bomb went off shortly after noon. Several soldiers were reported wounded by the blast. Hidden gunmen then opened fire on the soldiers. The bomb, estimated to have 20 kilograms of explosives, was hidden alongside the road near a bridge and was remotely detonated. |
