| Thai terrorists kill teenage girl in drive-by shooting |

| Songkran celebrations were held amid tight security throughout the far South yesterday as a teenager was killed and her mother wounded in a drive-by shooting in Pattani province. No details about the attack have yet been revealed as security officials delayed their inspection of the scene until yesterday morning for fear they could be caught in a trap by The attack began before 8 p.m. when four or five gunmen opened fire on the base. A firefight broke out between the gunmen and base defenders that lasted for about five minutes. The assailants broke off when an additional ranger force arrived to reinforce the base.
