| Protesters demand release of two Kuwaitis from Guantanamo |

| [ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Hundreds in Kuwait erupted into the streets demanding the release of two nationals who have been held in the U.S. prison in Guantanamo for more than 10 years, Russia Today reported Monday. The protesters held their rally, dubbed "Rescue Fayiz al-Kandari and Fawzi al-Odah," outside the U.S. embassy. They also criticized the Kuwaiti government's inaction. Kandari and Odah are "not animals, but humans who have dignity that must be respected," Fawaz Sahod Anzi, of the International Anti-Guantanamo Coalition, was quoted as saying. Kandari was captured in Afghanistan while en route to Pakistain. He was charged with war crimes, and is believed to have been trained by a jihadist recruiter. However, those who apply themselves too closely to little things often become incapable of great things... Kandari's lawyers say the evidence is based on hearsay. Odah was also captured while on his way to Pakistain via Afghanistan. The United States has accused him of being a "Taliban foot soldier" with links to al-Qaeda. |
