Downsizing the Military - The First Cuts
2012-12-11
The Army weight standards don't alter with the seasons, so those now in the first 'cut' really can't be surprised. However, this should only be phase one of which phase two will never be implemented - that is all those raters, who filled in the boxes on the evaluation/fitness reports validating that the now discharged soldier met height and weight requirements, also need to the be booted for a lack of integrity. 'Special trust and confidence' is more than lacking.

#10  Econ travails aside, oncew again the US has not a direct military confrontation wid a major nuclear power since 1962's Cuban Missle Crisis + 1973's Yom Kippur war, both vee the then-USSR - the closest we've come since 1973 is when Billary sent USN CV's to the Taiwan Straits in the 1990's.

Iff the above US-vs-USSR Cold War confrontations can be ascribed as "Brinkmanship widout War/Blood", history would suggest any post-9-11 US-vs-China or US-vs-Iran confrontation, espec the former, would be "Brinkmanship wid War/Blood" [Limited?]???

THE TRUE METTLE OF THE BAMMER ADMIN + ANY "ANTI-US" OWG + OWG "UNION/GLOBALISM" MAY BE DETERMINED IN 2013.

A WEAKENED OR DEFEATED US FOREIGN POLICY = MORE GEOPOL CHAOS = MORE GOVT-LED, GOVT-CENTRIC SOCIALISM AT HOME, LOCAL + OWG NAU???

#9  All they have to do is threaten it and the services will eat each other in an effort to save their own.

#8  I've seen a couple of BFSB (Battlefield Surveillance Brigades) that could be down away with... or reverted to their previous status as Military Intelligence Brigades.

#7  "CS (combat service) units should be the first to feel the reduction if force in my opinion. It won't happen however, the mix is wrong..."

-concur. I've been w/both the grunts and the CS community. There are billets that can go away in the CS as well as be civilian-ized. We have gotten rid of both grunt battalions and CLB's this yr.

#6  Hussein has added 101 new federal workers per day to his regime since his "re-election", as Hussein continues to aggresively downsize and ravage the US Military from within.

#5  Hooah BH-6. You either 'shake chutes' or you don't jump next time, rank immaterial.

Perhaps it isn't as prevalent in CONUS, but walking out of the DFAC (Dining facility) with an armload of styro-boxes full of Class-1 (chow).... "for the folks back at the company" should have been outlawed long ago.

CS (combat service) units should be the first to feel the reduction if force in my opinion. It won't happen however, the mix is wrong... as you well know.

#4  Concur Beso -- Officers and SNCOs should be first in line for weigh-ins & last in-line for Chow. That's leadership. Problem is - we have some @ssholes in both rank strata that believe in RHIP (rank has its priveleges) and have joined the unwritten military union. I see a lot of this in the CS communities amongst the SNCO ranks - E-7 thru E-9. Not good. However, I'm not referring to the muscle-heads who have 9% BF but are over their ht/wt standards. I believe commonsense should dictate, always. If a guy can run a good first class PFT I usually don't care how they look in uniform.

#2  Gen. Raymond T. Odierno to the white courtesy phone please, General Odierno. The company weight-in cannot start without you.

Leadership... it must begin at the fok'n TOP!

#1  What about the bureaucrats and politicians. When are we going to have standards for them?
