EU to offer Mali another $26m |
2012-12-10 |
[Bangla Daily Star] The European Union ...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing... yesterday said it would offer another 20 million euros ($26 million) in humanitarian aid for Mali, bringing the total to 101 million euros to help the country cope with the fallout from the loss of control of the north to Islamist rebel forces. A European Commission statement said the new funding will "boost the relief effort in all parts of Mali, particularly in the North, as well as in neighbouring countries to which Malian refugees have fled." |

#1 Why not just offer a bounty of 20 million euros to whoever will kill the most Islamist rebel forces? You'd get a better return on the investment. |
